Birthways Family Birth Center offers many classes & events to meet your growing needs during pregnancy and early parenthood. For more information call our office or send an email. We're glad to answer any questions you may have.
Birthways Open House & Orientation: Every Wednesday Evening 7:00pm. Whether you plan to birth at home, in our birth center, or at the hospital with one of our doulas, we're here to meet your needs. Free & open to the public. Please RSVP so we know to expect you. Other times are also available by appointment.
Cloth Diapering: 2nd Monday of each month 6:30 pm. Learn the benefits of cloth diapering and learn about the variety of cloth diapers available. $15 class fee, with a $10 credit toward diaper purchase.
Baby Wearing: 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. Learn the benefits and how to wear your baby. Various slings, wraps, and carriers demonstrated. Bring your baby or a doll (if you don't have a baby yet) and a sling or carrier if you have one (or borrow one of ours). $10 class fee per couple.
Early Pregnancy: 4th Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. This one evening class focuses on your needs during early pregnancy. Good nutrition, exercise, and your growing baby's development are discusses. With time for questions & answers. $10. Open to the public. Refreshments provided.
Bradley Method of Childbirth: The Bradley Method course stresses the importance of a healthy baby, healthy mother, and a healthy family. Our weekly classes discuss the positive impact of good nutrition, exercise, and relaxation on your pregnancy and birth. You'll learn about he birth process, your options during birth, and ways of coping with labor. Fathers and birth partners are guided in supporting the mother through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Our classes are kept small to allow for individual attention, time to answer questions, and interesting class discussion. Communication between the expectant couple and their chosen birth team is encouraged. Whether you choose to give birth at home, in our birth center, or in the hospital, the Bradley course spans all choices. Open to the public. Call for pricing. The Following are Free Events that Meet at 10am on Thursdays:
1st Thursday: Expectant Moms Club: Meet with other expectant moms to share the joys and tribulations of pregnancy.
2nd Thursday: La Leche League: We're happy to hostess this wonderful group. Please visit La Leche League's website for more information.
3rd Thursday: Baby Wearing Group: Learn about the benefits of baby wearing, what type of carrier maybe best for you and how to you it! And best of all, meet other moms! Call Tanya at 962-4068 or email her at go_romanovs@yahoo.com to register. Free & open to the public.
4th Thursday: Mom-Baby Playgroup: Bring your baby & visit with other moms who've recently had babies... older siblings welcome too.

Birth Story Circle: Friday May 16th, 6:30pm. Come for a potluck dinner and an evening of story sharing. Every woman who's given birth has a story to share. Whether you've given birth at home, in a birth center, or in the hospital come share your story. Haven't given birth yet? Now's the chance to hear from other women what birth is really like.
